Circuit Board Shredder

Circuit Board Shredder

Description Online

Product Overview

Circuit Board Shredder is a heavy-duty shredding machine designed for the primary size reduction of printed circuit boards, motherboards, and mixed electronic scrap. Using a low-speed, high-torque double-shaft design, the machine tears circuit boards into coarse fragments without generating excessive heat or dust, preparing material for downstream crushing, grinding, and electrostatic separation.

The Circuit Board Shredder is the first stage in a complete PCB recycling line, protecting downstream equipment and improving the efficiency of metal recovery.

Key Features

1 Low-speed, high-torque design tears circuit boards without impact damage or excessive dust.

2 Hardened alloy blades in D2 and DC53 tool steel deliver extended service life against abrasive PCB material.

3 Interchangeable screens control output particle size for downstream processing.

4 PLC control system provides automatic overload reverse protection and real-time monitoring.

5 Heavy-duty construction with reinforced frame and sealed bearings supports continuous operation.

6 Enclosed cutting chamber reduces noise and dust, with optional dust extraction connection.

7 Twin shaft gripping action handles tangled cables, mixed boards, and irregular assemblies.

All models feature PLC control and are available with 380V/50Hz or custom voltage configurations. Hopper size is customizable. Specifications are indicative and subject to customization based on application requirements.

Working Principle

The Circuit Board Shredder uses two counter-rotating shafts equipped with hardened cutting blades. Material is fed into the hopper and pulled into the cutting chamber by the rotating shafts. The blades tear and shear the circuit boards into coarse fragments, which pass through the screen beneath the rotors. Oversized material remains in the chamber until reduced to the required size.

The low rotational speed minimises heat generation, preventing thermal damage to components and reducing fire risk associated with lithium batteries and dust.

Application Scope

The Circuit Board Shredder processes computer motherboards from PC recycling and IT asset disposal, cell phone boards from mobile phone recycling, TV and appliance boards from WEEE recycling, copper-clad laminate from PCB production scrap, mixed electronic scrap from e-waste collection centres, and cable and wire assemblies from cable recycling and connector recovery.

Complete Process Line Integration

The Circuit Board Shredder is typically the first stage in a PCB recycling line. Primary size reduction to 50–150 mm is followed by secondary crushing to approximately 13 mm. A pulverizer or grinding mill then liberates copper through fine grinding. Air separation removes resin and fibre by density. Electrostatic separation achieves high-purity metal recovery. A pulse-jet bag filter dust collection system maintains clean operation.

The Circuit Board Shredder can also be used as a standalone unit for volume reduction prior to storage or transport.

Frequently Related Questions

1 What is the output size of the Circuit Board Shredder?
Output size is controlled by interchangeable screens. Standard configurations produce 50–150 mm fragments, suitable for downstream crushing and grinding.

2 Can the Circuit Board Shredder handle whole computer towers?
The machine handles circuit boards and electronic components. Whole computer towers should be dismantled first to remove steel chassis and large components.

3 What is the throughput?
Throughput depends on model and material. The HT-800 handles 0.5–1.5 t/h, the HT-1000 handles 1.0–2.5 t/h, and the HT-1200 handles 2.0–4.0 t/h.

4 Is dust generated during shredding?
The low-speed design generates less dust than high-speed shredders. An optional dust extraction connection is available for integration with a bag filter system.

What maintenance is required?
Regular inspection of blades, screen condition, hydraulic system, and bearing lubrication. Blades can be re-sharpened multiple times before replacement.
