Do you know how to maintenance and care of the shredder blade?

Date Issued:2025-02-17

The maintenance and care of the shredder blade is very important, as follows:

1. Installation and debugging stage

• Correct installation: Install the blade accurately according to the requirements of the equipment manual. Make sure that the blade is firmly installed and the connection parts are tight to prevent loosening during operation. For example, use suitable bolts and nuts to fix the blade on the blade shaft and tighten it according to the specified torque.

• Debugging inspection: Before the initial operation of the equipment, no-load debugging should be carried out to check whether the rotation direction of the blade is correct and whether there is interference between the knives. During the debugging process, listen carefully for abnormal sounds. If there are any abnormalities, stop the machine in time for inspection and adjustment.

2. Daily use process

• Control the feeding speed and quality: Uniform feeding is the key, avoid feeding too fast or too hard, and prevent the blade from being damaged due to excessive load in an instant. At the same time, it should be noted that the feed should not contain large pieces of hard foreign matter, such as stones, metal blocks, etc. For example, when processing plastic waste, the waste should be fed into the shredder evenly.

• Regular cleaning: After use or regularly (such as after each shift), the tool should be cleaned to remove material residues stuck on the tool. These residues may affect the cutting performance of the tool and may also cause tool corrosion. You can use brushes, scrapers and other tools for cleaning.

3. Regular inspection and maintenance

• Check tool wear: Check the degree of tool wear regularly (weekly or monthly, depending on the frequency of use). Determine whether it needs to be replaced or reground by observing the wear and edge curling of the tool edge. For example, when the wear of the tool edge exceeds a certain limit (such as the wear reaches 2-3mm), it is necessary to consider repair or replacement.

• Lubrication and maintenance: Regularly add an appropriate amount of lubricant to the key parts of the tool (such as the tool shaft, bearings, etc.) to reduce friction and reduce the wear rate of the tool. Generally, high-temperature and wear-resistant grease can be used, and it should be added according to the specified period (such as every 3-6 months).

• Grinding and replacement of tools: When the tool is worn, rolled, etc., it should be reground in time. When grinding, professional equipment and tools should be used to grind according to the design angle of the tool. If the tool is severely damaged and cannot be restored by grinding, it should be replaced with a new one in time.。
